Also, our Guide to New York is going online. The Guide will be accessible through our website to members. Parents League members will be able to search for activities and information from any computer.

This year we have divided our Toddler Book into two separate resources for parents: Let's Play an online guide for members with children under 3, and The Guide to Preschools, a publication for members with children under 3.

As always, Parents League members will receive our annual Review in the mail.

Summer in New York City
Summer in New York CityEven though your kids have just started school this fall, it will soon be time to start planning for summer camp. Many camps hold open houses and begin registration in October. Summer in New York City lists more than 400 summer activities in and around New York City for toddlers through teens and is now available online!

Early Childhood Workshops

An Explanation of the Preschool Admission Process

A PL advisor will lead a ninety minute workshop on how to collect the information you need, when to apply, what to expect and how to enter the nursery school admission season in stride. This workshop is designed for parents with children under 3. If your child will be 4 by September 1, 2008, call the office for a one-on-one appointment with our Advisory Service.

Starting September 8, Workshops for families applying for the 2009-10 school year are held every week at the Parents League office.

Bullying, inappropriate or unkind behavior, passing cruel notes, risk-taking - all have been rites of passage for children and teenagers for generations. The growth of the World Wide Web, however, has increased the potential impact of these behaviors exponentially. While the media continues to sound the alarm about children's use of instant messaging, chat rooms, blogs, and a plethora of Web sites designed to reveal intimate details of every teenager's life, parents still need to become involved in their children's use of technology.
